This scene is the very beginning of the HBO version. It shows her lady's undressing her and her Doctor acknowledges that she can still have a child (or an heir to the thrown). In addition, this scene illustrates the relationship between Elizabeth & the Earl of Leicester (which I described in earlier blogs)
*I love the background music in this movie. It has a royal theme yet it sounds so natural and surreal. When you open the link, you will hear the music. What do you think of the music in this clip and do you think it correlates well with the movie?

You were right Anthony, when you said that Queen Elizabeth I of England and Mary, Queen of Scots, also known as Mary Stuart, never met in person.
Soon after she married her second husband, the 4th Earl of Bothwell, an uprising against the couple ensued and Queen Mary was imprisoned in Loch Leven Castle and forced to abdicate to her one year old son, King James VI. After an unsuccessful attempt to regain the throne, Mary fled to England seeking protection from her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I. Perceiving her as a threat, Queen Elizabeth had her arrested. After 19 years in custody in a number of castles and manor houses in England, she was tried and executed for treason, July 24th 1567.
Thanks for the comment and insight about Mary, Queen of Scots. If you have not watched it, I recommend the movie; Mary, Queen of Scots. I do not remember who plays Mary, but Glenda Jackson plays Elizabeth and does a great job. After this movie, Glenga Jackson did Elizabeth R, which had 6 segments on the BBC channel. Again, thanks for the comment and keep checking the blog and keep on posting!
