About Me

Me at my Sister-In-Law's Baby Shower in December 2015
(Obviously I love the throne and it correlates with this page so well)

One of my passions is History, specifically English history, and to be more specific, Tudor history.  I am 35 and became a Tudor lover in my early twenties.  I have studied and watched many Tudor movies and documentaries.  So, I consider myself  highly knowledgeable about the Tudors.

Of all the Tudors and individuals in general, Queen Elizabeth I fascinates me the most.  I hope throughout this site you will understand and follow my "love" and "admiration" for her, and for the Tudor Monarch.  The hills Elizabeth I had to climb just to survive before being Queen are extraordinary.  When she became Queen, she inherited a nation that was nothing on the globe and throughout her realm she turned England to a strong, thriving, and powerful nation.  She did this without a single husband and an heir to the thrown.  Elizabeth I was, after all, married to England.
My admiration for the Queen is deeply personal.  I have admired Elizabeth I for many years and my passion for the Tudor Family, especially Elizabeth I goes very deep.

I went to Community College in my local area for 2 years and then transferred to SUNY Binghamton, where I graduated in 2003 with a Bachelors Degree in Arts and majored in an interdisciplinary program, known as Philosophy, Politics, & Law (PPL program).  Currently, I work as a Senior Human Resources Client Specialist/HR Business Partner & have my Masters in Human Relations & Business from Amberton University

Personal interests, besides the Tudors: spend time with my husband (we are newlyweds), love to travel, photography, reading, watching movies at home or at the theatre, broadway shows, spending time with my family and friends, my cats Hector & Zsa Zsa (a Devon Rex), & my dog Lizzie (Puggle).  There are a lot more but you get the idea...

That's me in a nutshell...

OMGosh! After figuring everything out on facebook, I went about adding your blog to mine. You now have a permanent home on my Blog Tudors 4 Life :) I had not realized we both live in NY, and we share a passion for the Tudors. Anyhow, nice meeting you!

I am an armchair historian for quite a few years, my main focus primarily being Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots. I am an active member of the yahoo group mariestuart@yahoo.com. which has many original authors and first rate historians. Any historical research on Mary demands a close inspection of Elizabeth Tudor and the reformation in England, Scotland and France. I have finally seen a pattern to the methodology and discipline of historical investigation, and would enjoy mentoring anyone interested in writing their thesis. I have a degree in political philosophy from U of Penna, Which means nothing as far as I am concerned. It is my years of reading, discussion, and immersion in my subject that is what I have to offer. Please follow my facebook page on Mary Queen of Scots by that name, and I will be more than happy to join in any discussions on your blog.

Tudorcrazy,
Again, thanks for this comment. Mary, Queen of Scots is a fascinating person and topic and definitely demands close inspection to Elizabeth Tudor. I have always loved Tudor history, especially the Elizabethan Era and would love to pursue a career involving this era. As a FYI, I also have a FB page and it's called "The Tudor Dynasty" (http://www.facebook.com/thetudorspage). A few questions:
1)What is an armchair historian?
2) There are a lot of Mary Queen of Scots FG pages out there. I may even be a follower of yours already. Can you provide the FB webpage?
3)Do you have a personal email address so if anything too personal for this blog came up, we could email one another. My email is in my about me section. Thank you much for your comment.

Anthony this is a very well developed blog and website that you should take a good look at. Susan Bardo is an up and coming author, and she has been working at this a long time. Her website is spectacular and very interesting and Semper Eadem her assistant was a moderator for the Showtime tudor wiki. This is a long involved blog, but you can learn everything from her. She teaches at the university of Ky, maybe a good place to look into graduate programs. Ask her advise. She is very hekpful
She is a lovely lady.

While I myself have always been wary of technology, I find the internet and social media have been a fantastic way to connect with fellow Tudor-philes that I would otherwise never meet! Im so greatful for this interconnected web of well-read, supportive people!
A Question: Did you design the "skin" (layout) of your site? It is fantastic, and I would like to design my own background for my blog. Do you mind sharing what program you used? Was it through Blogspot?

I agree about the internet. It brings a lot of people that are interested in the same thing together, sample being The Tudor Era. I am grateful too. The online discussions we have are the best!
As far as my blog, I use blogger, it's apart of Google. I picked the skin layout myself and did not design it. To be more technical with designs, etc., you have to get involved with wordpress. I will eventually get there but for now I am happy with my current site.
Thank you for all the compliments, much appreciated. I hope I have helped. Have a great Tudoriffic Weekend!

It is a wonderful blog, but the monarchs you have on the top bar [Henry VII through Elizabeth I] -- I'm guessing you are using the one picture between Edward and Mary as Lady Jane Grey. Only issue is that is not Lady Jane; it's actually Katherine Parr, the sixth queen of Henry VIII.

Thank you for the compliment about my blog, much appreciated. In my opinion, the picture I have on top is of Lady Jane Grey. After your post, I did much research.

In my personal opinion, the above resembles Lady Jane. I appreciate you taking the time to point out your opinion. The main thing is that we can disagree agreeably. Again, thank you for the post, much appreciated!

I think it is nice you didn't leave Jane out - and since there are no contemporary portraits of her using one traditionally associated with her seems fair enough. Enjoyed the blog (from author of Tudor: The Family Story )

I very much enjoyed your blog, The Tudor Monarch. I am working on a history book-blog of my own, which can be seen at [one word] theoryofirony.com, then clicking on either the “sample chapter” or “blog” buttons at the top. My Rube Goldberg brain asks with an odd, well-caffeinated kind of logic: Why is there an inverse proportion between the size of the print and the importance of the message? Art. Literature. Science. Military. Religion. I call this eccentric thinking the Theory of Irony and if your busy schedule permits, give a read, leave a comment or create a link. In any event, best of luck with your own endeavors.

P.S. It concerns Classical, Medieval and Modern eras.
